Quarantine Day 3,473

Quarantine day 38...I think? The days are blurring together a little, anyone else? We're getting along alright, and we thought we might share a little about how we've navigating the Stay Home, Stay Safe order.

Westonia Coffee Update

Despite the blurred-together days, we're still up and running! We're doing lots of shipping and deliveries - all properly masked, sterilized and social-distanced - as we wait for Michigan's Stay Home, Stay Safe order to expire. We're even working on adding a new coffee to our collection: a honey-processed Costa Rican specialty coffee that we sampled this morning. It's a little bit different, with notes of black tea and a bright, fruity pop of acidity. We'll keep you posted on this, as we're excited to bring a new variety into our coffee family!

What else? We're thoroughly enjoying our weekly Instagram Where's Westonia giveaways, so be sure to follow us over there for a chance to win a 12 oz. bag of your choice of Westonia coffee. It's just a small way to help brighten these sometimes-monotonous quarantine days and to show our appreciation to all of you following along on our journey. We love you!

Weston Family Update

What can we say? All four of us Westons have been sheltered in place for about a month, with the exception of our desperately needed park excursions. It's the most time we've all spent together since, well, ever. But we still love each other and nobody's pitched a tent in the yard or anything so...win! The kids are navigating their remote learning pretty well, and we're all quickly becoming Zoom experts.

We've sort of settled into a new, temporary rhythm that works for us, so I thought I'd share some of the things we're doing to keep us sane. Er, I mean productive and happy:

Spring cleaning - Cleaning Mama is a great resource for getting started

Family read-aloud: The Belgariad series by the late David Eddings

Baking - Favorite recipe: Lemon Buttermilk Pound Cake (a little time-consuming, but soooo worth it)

Long walks - almost all Metro Detroit parks are free of charge during Stay Home, Stay Safe

Exercising - www.FitnessBlender.com - huge collection of free, no-frills free at-home workout videos

Family binge-watching - Home Town (Hulu), Somebody Feed Phil (Netflix), Last Man Standing (Hulu)

Movies - Surprise family favorite for all ages: Togo (Disney+)

Coffee drinking - right now we're loving Westonia's Espresso roast brewed with our Aeropress

So that's it! Stay tuned for one of our next blog posts, where we'll talk about experimenting with cold brewing, which is becoming quite the hot (HA!), at-home quarantine trend. We hope this post finds you safe and healthy, and if you have any tips or tricks about how you're spending your quarantine days, please feel free to share them in the comments!
